TakeMatch

Privacy notice

Last updated 27 October 2026

TakeMatch is a casting platform: talent build profiles, casting teams post jobs and review applicants. This notice explains what personal data we handle to make that work, who can see it, and what you can do about it.

The short version: you decide whether your profile is public, we do not sell your data, and we only use analytics cookies if you say yes.

Who we are

TakeMatch (“we”, “us”) runs www.takematch.com. We decide why and how the personal data described here is used, which makes us the “data fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the “controller” under laws such as the GDPR where they apply.

To reach us about privacy, use the contact form.

What we collect

What you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text.
  • Talent profile: headline, bio, location, category, skills and hobbies, credits and education, headshot, cover image, gallery photos and reels, experience, and links to your social profiles.
  • Optional personal details on a profile: for example gender, date of birth, height and weight, body type, hair, eye and skin colour, ethnicity, mother tongue, marital status, and travel, passport, singing and dancing preferences. Casting briefs often ask for these. Each is optional and you choose what to fill in.
  • Contact details: a contact person, phone number, city, pin code, address and website. These are kept private and are not shown on your public page (see “Who can see your information”).
  • Casting team details: company or production name, job posts, roles and requirements, and your decisions on applicants.
  • Applications and messages: the role you apply for, your note to the casting team, ratings and saved or followed profiles and jobs, and anything you send through the contact form.

What we collect as you use TakeMatch

  • Notifications and activity needed to run the service, such as application status changes, contact-credit transactions, AI licence purchases and, for talent, earnings balances.
  • Counts of how often a public profile was viewed or shown in the directory. We tell anonymous visitors apart for a single day using a one-way hash of the date, IP address and browser type. No cookie is used, and the hash changes every day so it cannot follow you over time.
  • Basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and request times) kept by our servers to keep the service secure and working.

Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies are covered in the Cookie policy.

Why we use it

We use personal data to:

  • create and run your account, profile, job posts and applications (to provide the service you asked for);
  • show public profiles and published jobs to visitors, as you choose;
  • send service emails and in-app notifications, such as email verification, password resets, application updates and replies to contact messages;
  • give talent simple performance numbers (views and appearances) and give casting teams tools such as saved profiles and contact unlocks;
  • process contact credits, plans and AI licences;
  • keep the platform safe: preventing abuse and fraud, reviewing job posts before they go live, and enforcing our Terms of use;
  • understand how the site is used and improve it, but only with analytics cookies when you have accepted them;
  • meet legal obligations.

Where the law requires consent, we ask for it and you can withdraw it. Otherwise we rely on being needed to provide the service you requested, on our legitimate interests in running a safe platform, or on a legal duty. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who can see your information

  • Everyone: published casting jobs, and a talent profile only if its owner has made it public. A public profile shows what you chose to put on it, such as your name, headline, bio, photos, skills and credits. Parts of a public gallery may be limited to signed-in visitors.
  • Casting teams: the contact details on a profile stay hidden until a casting team spends contact credits to unlock them for that profile. When you apply to a job, the team that owns that job can see your application, your note and your profile.
  • You: everything in your own account.
  • TakeMatch staff: administrators can view and manage accounts, profiles, jobs and messages as needed to run the platform, handle reports and support users.
  • Others: only the service providers and legal cases described below.

If you switch your profile to private, it is removed from the directory and public page. Copies already shown or saved elsewhere, for example by a search engine or another person, are outside our control.

Services that help us run TakeMatch

We use a small number of providers who process data for us under their own security and privacy commitments:

ProviderWhat it does for us
Cloud hosting providerRuns our servers and database.
Cloudflare R2Stores and delivers uploaded photos, videos and cover images.
Amazon Web Services (SES)Sends service emails such as verification and password resets.
Google AnalyticsShows us how pages are used. Only if you accept analytics cookies.

We may also share personal data if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or in a merger or sale of the business (we would tell you and the same protections would continue to apply).

Paid plans are described on our Pricing page but online checkout is not yet switched on. If we add a payment provider, we will name it here before you are asked to pay.

Where data is processed

Our providers may process data on servers in India and in other countries. When data leaves your country we rely on the safeguards the applicable law allows, such as our providers’ contractual commitments.

How long we keep it

  • We keep account and profile data while your account is open.
  • When you delete your account it is closed straight away and removed from public view. We then keep a limited set of records for a short period where needed for security, preventing fraud and abuse, resolving disputes or meeting legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see “Your rights”).
  • Contact-form messages are kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
  • Daily visitor hashes and view counts are kept as aggregate statistics for the talent whose profile was viewed.

Your rights and choices

You can:

  • See and correct your data: most of it is in your profile and account settings, where you can edit or remove it.
  • Control visibility: make your profile public or private at any time, and remove photos, reels and any optional personal details.
  • Delete your account: from your Account page.
  • Withdraw consent: change your cookie choices from “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before.
  • Ask us: to access, correct, erase or port your data, to object to or restrict a use, or to nominate someone to act for you if you cannot. Use the contact form; we will reply within the time the law sets.
  • Complain: to us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local data protection authority if you are in another country.

Keeping your data safe

We protect data with HTTPS, hashed passwords, access limits for staff and separation of services. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you suspect your account has been misused. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

TakeMatch is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. A profile for a performer under 18 must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. If you think a child’s data is on TakeMatch without a guardian’s consent, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the product or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. For significant changes we will tell you in the product or by email.
